Summer reflections on M-312

06/07/2012 / Uncategorised

Summer Reflections on M312Motion 312 is set to be debated for the second time in the House of Commons in mid-September. Due to the illness of Mr. Woodworth’s mother, we have additional time to influence MP’s and encourage them to express support for a healthy discussion about the humanity of pre-born children. As your MP heads out on the barbeque circuit, he/she needs to be reminded of the necessity of voting in favour of M-312 and the fact that where you live in Canada shouldn’t determine if you live.

Dear,(Name of MP)

Thank you for your continued efforts as a member of the government of Canada!

I hope that this finds you enjoying the well deserved break from the regular duties and obligations that come when parliament is in session.

Aside from being able to enjoy the many outdoor activities that are associated with this time of year, summer is also a great time to reflect on the past session and look ahead to the fall sitting of parliament.

The memories of the spring sitting are undoubtedly still fresh for you and I would like to draw your attention to one in particular. It was back on April 26th that Mr. Stephen Woodworth stood in the House of Commons to introduce his motion requesting a committee be struck to study the definition of a human being. While the subsequent commentary was disappointing, what is encouraging for me is that this topic is being discussed in its proper setting, the House of Commons.

At the present time, where you live in Canada might determine if you live. The fact there are locations in our country where it is not safe to be is a sad reflection on Canada’s high standard of human rights, and it is my hope that you will take time this summer to think about the repercussions of voting against Motion 312.

Canadian law should reflect advances in science and medicine and I would urge you to support Motion 312 which is simply asking for a committee to conduct an objective study into the humanity of the pre-born child.

Because, in Canada where you live shouldn’t determine if you live.

Sincerely,
