Questions to ask candidates about abortion

05/03/2025 / Abortion

With a federal election on the national agenda for 2025, we want to help you feel confident engaging with your candidates during the election campaign. An election campaign brings a unique opportunity for pro-life conversations with leaders, as candidates are actively seeking your vote and willing to hear about issues that matter to you. Talking to them about abortion can help you get a sense of whether you want them to represent you in Parliament.

The printable one-pager below has simple questions you can use to bring up the issue of pre-born human rights with your potential member of Parliament. Whenever possible, engage with individual candidates to find out who will best represent you if they are elected. You can do this through attending an all-candidates meeting, making a phone call, sending an email, or talking to doorknockers or callers who contact you during the election. This is about relationship building and local, personal decisions, not party politics or party positions.

By asking candidates questions about abortion and specifically about how they will take action to protect pre-born children, you let them know that life is an election issue for many Canadians. The suggested questions can begin a conversation that you can continue after the election is over. Just click on the picture below if you’d like a printable pdf version.

Thank you for your continued work to spread the message that Canada needs protection for pre-born children. We couldn’t do this without you!
