Stephen Woodworth decides to postpone debate on M-312

06/06/2012 / blog posts

This morning we learned that Stephen Woodworth, MP for Kitchener Centre had traded his position on the order paper with another member.

CBC reported that, “According to the Order Paper, his motion to review the current Criminal Code provisions on homicide in light of medical and scientific advancements has been dropped from the top of the private members’ business priority list.”

This was confirmed when we received the following communication from Mr. Woodworth. Please remember him and his family in your prayers as they go through this trying time.

 Dear Friend,

 Re: Motion 312

The second hour of debate on M-312 will not occur June 7th, 2012, as previously believed, due to last minute arrangements.

I apologize for any inconvenience this causes.

The new arrangement has personal benefit for me.  As many of you may know, my mother is deathly ill, having eaten little or nothing for approximately five weeks.  This has taken a personal toll on me.  As much as I would want to pretend to be a superman, it is on occasion appropriate to ease up a little.

Thank you for your patience and prayers.

Sincerely,

Stephen Woodworth

Member of Parliament

Kitchener Centre
